If you're in Rome for a short period of time or simply want to see the "biggies"of the city all in once, then this is the perfect tour for you!
Meet your guide a few steps from the Colosseum or, if you prefer, you can avail of our pickup service and be driven to the meeting point on an air-conditioned last generation car.
On your three hour Colosseum part of the tour, you'll discover the many wonders that this ancient arena holds. Get a better understanding of how the gladiatorial games played an important role in the political development of the Roman Empire. Imagine standing on the arena and hearing the crowds cheer while exotic animals would battle against men, and gaze with awe at the intricate underground level, home to one of the first most advanced elevator systems of the ancient world. Once outside of the Colosseum, your enthusiastic and licensed guide will take you on top of the Palatine Hill, birthplace of Rome. According to tradition, this is the place where Romulus, founder and first king of Rome built the first settlement that would one day become Rome. Enjoy the breathtaking view of the city while walking in the footsteps of great emperors and queens.
Your first part of this Super Combo will end after a lovely stroll through the Roman Forum, the main stage of Rome's busy daily life.
At this point, you'll have time to grab a "Roman"bite and enjoy the Dolce Vita lifestyle.
The second part of this experience will take place in another country, the State of the Vatican City. Here, having met your guide, you'll skip the line and enter one of the world's most amazing art collections.
Fall in love with the statues from the Classical era, such as the Apollo of the Belvedere, the heart braking Laocoon complex, as well as the Torso fo the Belvedere, inspiration for so many modern artists such as Rodin himself. No visit to the Vatican is complete without having gazed at the unique frescoes painted by Michelangelo that decorate the ceiling.
At this point, your guide will take you through a secret backend passage and you'll end up in the beating hear of Christianity: St. Peter's Basilica. This is the largest church and home to Michelangelo's Pietá, Bernini's bronze altar canopy, and more.
